DN Angel: Daisuke sketches

Some sketches for Artgerm’s 1st illustration project, we had to write the name of a character we liked on a piece of paper and fold it, toss it into a plastic bag and randomly pick one out. We weren’t allowed to pick our own paper, so in the end all of us had a different classmates favourite character.

Our task was to find out information about this character and do 3 preliminary sketches, I’ve done 6 (although 1 and 2 are obviously similar, but I wanted to experiment with foreshortening) as I’m very weak with male characters & could use the extra practice.

The random character I got was a cutesy teen boy named Daisuke Niwa from an Anime named DN Angel, anime style is not my forte and Artgerm also encouraged us to do this character in our own preferred style so here he is! He’s very different from a character I would usually draw haha xD
